For the first time in Karnataka, to provide holistic education for the economic weaker section of society, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike signed an MoU with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for running a school with CBSE syllabus at Srirampuram, Bangalore.

This initiative will help children get into the mainstream of society. Under the arrangement BBMP has constructed the school and Bhavan will provide all facilities for imparting quality education.

The School has 22 classrooms supported by a library, Computer Lab, Physics, Chemistry & Biology Labs and a huge playground. The total built up area will be 31,933 Sq.Ft.. The School will conduct Kalabharati classes in classical & light music (both vocal & instrumental), Bharatanatya, Kathak, Drawing & Painting . Classes in yoga and meditation are special to this school.

The model school which will strive to blend the heritage, culture, values and wisdom of ancient India with constantly changing needs and aspirations, seeks to develop every student into a self-reliant, socially useful, disciplined and ethical citizen.

The basic approach is guided by the fact that nature gifts every child with a ‘unique potential, which, with adequate environmental inputs, can be developed. Hence, the institution will have a distinct background, character and objective, and will lay special emphasis on the study of Indian Culture in composite form.

The school situated in a locality mostly inhabited by people of lower income group, will strive for the purpose of making education available to all children irrespective of class, creed and religion. The school will be affiliated to the Central Board for Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.), Delhi.
